UX Design Researcher

About the job 

As a UX Design Researcher, you will help shape the future of INVISIO’s products and services through high‑quality user research, structured product testing, and insight‑driven evaluations, while influencing the UX Research and Design strategy moving forward. Working closely with UX Designers and User Engagement teams, you will help ensure our solutions are not only functional and reliable but intuitive, effective, and purpose-built for demanding operational situations and extreme conditions. 

This role involves frequent travel to engage directly with military and public safetuser- bringing real insight back into the heart of our product definition, design and development processes, to Product Managers, Engineers and Designers. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative user research activities across global user segments. 
  • Identify key user needs, mission contexts, behaviors, pain points, and operational patterns. 
  • Drive structured research and test initiatives and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision‑making across R&D, UX, and Product Management. 
  • Plan and execute field‑based relevance tests, usability tests, desirability studies, and product evaluations. 
  • Facilitate multi-unit insights workshops and product feedback sessions with various users, including military and law enforcement professionals. 
  • Build and maintain user insight repository to be used actively across the organization. 
  • Establish and grow a scalable user panel that provides easy and continuous access to relevant user segments across the world.
  • Monitor signals and trends within the battlefield based on insights from the field and desktop research. 

 

About you 

You’re a skilled UX Design Researcher with strong qualitative research capabilities. You bring an analytical, curious, and structured mindset that helps you understand user needs and problems before shaping solutionsand you communicate clearly and confidently, tailoring your message to different audiences. As a person, you thrive by field research activities and cross‑functional environments, acting as the bridge between users, product management and technical teams.

Must-have skills

  • 4–8+ years of experience within UX research, design research, human factors, or usability engineering. 
  • Experience conducting research in complex or sensitive contexts. 
  • Ability to structure and communicate findings with clarity and impact. 
  • Ability to approach complex research challenges with a pragmatic, creative, and solution‑oriented mindset.  
  • Comfortable with both fieldworkanalytical synthesis and communication. 
  • Strong user‑centric mindset and ability to advocate for users throughout development. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, both locally and globally, to conduct field research and testing with defense and public safety professionals. 
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Danish and English. 

The following will enhance your candidacy

  • Experience with research in defense, law enforcement, or similarly high‑stakes environments. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area. 
  • Military background (SOF or Army).  
  • Experience with research repository tools (e.g., Dovetail, Condens or likewise). 
  • Experience with user panels and recruitment at scale. 
  • Experience using AI tools to support research workflows.

Additional information  

This is a fulltime position. You will be based in Hvidovre, and you must be present at the workplace. We do not offer relocation assistance. 

You must be able to travel approx. 40-50 days a year to engage with users to test new concepts and understand their behaviors, needs, and opportunities for product improvements.
